QFD Tool Documentation
QFD Tool is an engineering software for building multi-stage Quality Function Deployment pipelines, analyzing requirement and characteristic contributions, and supporting informed product design decisions.
Key Concepts
- Requirement (WHAT) — customer need or expectation
- Characteristic (HOW) — engineering parameter fulfilling the requirement
- House of Quality — matrix connecting WHAT → HOW
- Pipeline — sequence of Houses of Quality
Multi-stage Pipeline
Each stage of QFD automatically inherits characteristics from the previous stage, maintaining continuity without manual duplication.
Priorities & Contribution
Priorities are computed as normalized contributions of requirements or characteristics within each stage. At every stage, total contributions sum up to 100%.
Dominance Analysis
Dominance analysis identifies requirements that disproportionately influence final product characteristics.
Conflict Analysis
Conflicts arise when improving one characteristic negatively impacts another. QFD Tool classifies conflicts by severity.
Traceability Graph
The traceability graph visualizes the propagation of contributions from initial requirements to final engineering characteristics through all pipeline stages.
Report Export
Pro plan users can export a full PDF report including all QFD stages, summary page, and traceability graph.
